JBS Mall

JBS MALL was organised on 10th September 08 (Wednesday) in Aryabhatt Bhavan
II (JBS). 11 teams had participated in this mega event. The mall attracted a foot fall of more than 1500 comprising dignitaries from management, faculty, staff & students of
JIITU.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Mohan Agarwal, Director, Jaypee Business School for
leading us and motivating us to make this event a grand success. We also thank all the
faculty members of JBS & JIIT for their support and guidance.

Independence Day Celebrations (14th August 2008)


The occasion started with the customary welcome of our honorable Director Sir, Dr. Mohan Agarwal, and senior faculty members.

Sir then greeted the students with an inspiring speech, motivating and encouraging the spirit of patriotism among all students highlighting the true sense of independence.
This was followed by a patriotic song, “ae mere pyare watan …” by Rajeev Sharma (1st year student) which was truly applauded by all

Thereafter came a captivating presentation on the great Mangal Pandey, by our youngest faculty member, M/s Vinky Sharma Ma’am, highlighting the struggle and sacrifices made by him during the revolt of 1857.

Next was the turn of our youngest student Meenakshi Upadhyay to share some of her feelings on the occasion.
Following the speech was a performance based upon the meaning of Independence Day on the youth of today by the first year students which included a skit and a group dance on the song ‘Vande Mataram’ emphasizing on the comparison between the feelings of the youth of today and the youth of pre independence era (Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, etc.) towards Independence Day.

Towards the end was the vote of thanks to Director Sir and faculty members for not only coming to the programme but also for their constant guidance and our seniors for their enthusiasm and support.

The programme concluded with the traditional National Anthem.

Winner's at Annual National Business Plan Contest 2011

Students of MBA-2010-12 have secured second position at Annual National Business Plan Contest 2011 at JIMS, Rohini. This event was organized by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). Their Business Plan was on Medical Tourism and name of their company was AVSG Medi Tour.

On 2nd March, 2011 Jaypee Business School organized its own Retail Mall named as JBS-MALL in JBS premises. Stalls were set up by the MBA students and helped in Appling their theoretical knowledge into real life by choosing their own innovative products, marketing for the same and running a business altogether. 

The event was inaugurated by Mr.Yajulu Medury - Chief Operating Officer, Jaypee Education System, Professor J. P. Gupta-Vice Chancellor, Colonel Vijay Kumar (Retd.)- Registrar, Commodore Kamal Rohatgi V.S.M. (Retd) - Head-T&P & Dean Students Affairs. A total of 18 stalls were put up by the students selling product ranging from food items like chaats, fruit chaat, chuski, handmade chocolates to accessories, strategic and fun games etc. The coordination committee and the students got full support from the JBS faculty coordinator Mr. S.Suresh along with other faculty members who embraced the event with their presence and making the event a huge success. SIDDHARTHA VASHISTHA CHARITABLE TRUST was our NGO Partner for the event. And Anti-Tobacco Pamphlets were distributed by SVCT NGO.

Jaypee Group was the co-sponsor of the India Today Conclave 2011 that recently concluded at the Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi. The conclave was on the theme ‘CHANGING BALANCE OF POWER’. Total of 16 students from jaypee including four from JBS participated in this conclave. The students selected from JBS were Saurabh Goel, Arpit Mathur, Kumar Pallav and Bithika Bishesh. The speakers included top politicians, entertainers, technologists and also Vijender Singh, the lone sportsman who got a standing ovation after his short but frank speech on our obsession with Cricket.
The inaugural keynote address was given by Dr. Manmohan Singh and Aroon purie,Editor in chief, India today.
There was Shah Rukh Khan who lamented the fact that despite the burgeoning Indian software industry, we don’t have enough people skilled in visual effects required for film-making. 
The “digital debate” session with Sir Tim Berners Lee, Joshua Klein and Wael Ghonim was particularly interesting. Wael compared how the Egyptian revolution was like Wikipedia where everyone contributed their own bit selflessly and that there was no real hero.
Unlike most other conferences where the audiences are often engrossed with their mobile phones or laptops, the India Today event was a different experience. The people were genuinely interested in what the speakers had to say and this was quite evident from the Q& As that happened after every panel.
Ashim chatterjee, aka Kaka, leader of the Communist Revolutionary League of India, debated on how the Maoists would eventually degenerate into social terrorism. The debate also had participants like- Lt Gen (retd) Jacob, Military mastermind and former Governor, Punjab and Goa ; Latha Reddy, Deputy National Security Advisor; Aziz Ahmad Khan, Former Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan and High Commissioner to India.
Other eminent speakers were Jairam Ramesh, Arun Jaitley, Praful Patel, Mani Shankar Aiyer, Farooq Abdullah, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Narendra Modi, Subramaniam Swamy, Aitzaz Ahsan, Maulana Mahmood Madani, Fatima Bhutto.
The dilemma of nuclear energy was discussed by the ambassador of Japan to India- Akitaka Saiki.
Mohammed ElBaradei, Leader of the Opposition, Egypt and Nobel Peace Laureate 2005 Gave insights to the challenges and opportunities of the new middle east. A student of our jaypee business school- Bithika Bishesh, questioning ElBaradei, stated “There have been reports from IAEA, chastisising Egypt for not disclosing its atomic research activities. Why is it that Egypt has never come clean about the full scope of its nuclear activities?” 
Addressing the future of the youth were, Imtiaz Ali, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjiv Bajaj.
The concluding gala dinner was with Sarah Palin, first female governor of Alaska and republican vice-presidential nominee. Ms.Palin made numerous references to America’s entrepreneurial and pioneering spirit, and India’s unlocking of the same to become a vibrant global giant.
The students also got to meet Clive Lloyd, Mohammad Azharuddin, Arjuna Ranatunga, Javed Akhtar, Shatrughan Sinha, Rahul Bajaj, Amar Singh, Smriti Irani.

India Today Conclave 2010 tried to peek into the future by learning from the ruins and triumphs of yesterday for a better tomorrow
